Deserts are too dry to burn. While this sounds counter-intuitive at first, if you think about how sparsely vegetated deserts normally are, it makes sense that they are incapable of supporting widespread wildfires due to lack of fuel. But recently that has changed, and highly unnatural wildfires are drastically threatening our desert ecosystems….
